Who is behind Omaha Senior Advisor?

Omaha Senior Advisor is an independent, privately owned senior care referral service for the Nebraska side of the Omaha metro; we are not part of DHHS, Nebraska Medicaid, ENOA, any hospital system or any facility operator, and we do not own or manage care buildings.

We do two things. On this site we lay out Nebraska's own rules and records, the 175 NAC 4 regulations, the DHHS rosters, the Medicaid and waiver standards and CMS's nursing home data, with the citation beside each claim so you can check it. Off the site, an advisor talks with your family by phone, learns what your parent needs and can afford, and suggests a short list of licensed places to visit.

How does Omaha Senior Advisor make money?

Some assisted living and memory care communities pay us a placement fee when a family we referred moves in; your family never pays us anything, now or later.

That arrangement gives every referral service an incentive to favor the communities that pay. Our answer is to make the whole map visible: the directory includes every licensed ALF and nursing home on the state rosters for our five counties, paying or not, and every suggestion an advisor makes should come with reasons you can check against the roster or CMS. If it does not, push back. We would rather lose a placement than send a family somewhere that does not fit.

What will you find in our directory, and what won't you find?

You will find each licensed assisted-living facility and nursing home exactly as Nebraska's DHHS rosters list it, plus licensed adult day services and CMS-certified home health agencies and hospices, with CMS's own ratings for certified nursing homes.

You will not find reviews, testimonials, star ratings we made up, aggregator listings or advertising copy. Where a number has never been published, such as an Omaha-only price or a memory care median, we say it does not exist. Where the state does not publish something in bulk, such as assisted living inspection results, we say that too and show you how to get it.

How do we reach Omaha Senior Advisor?

Call (402) 866-8643, email advisors@omahaseniorsadvisor.com, or answer the five care-match questions on any page; facility operators who notice a display error in their roster data can write to the same address.

In an emergency call 911. To report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of a vulnerable adult anywhere in Nebraska, call Adult Protective Services at (800) 652-1999, day or night.

Which communities does Omaha Senior Advisor cover?

Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, Saunders and Washington counties in Nebraska: Omaha and Elkhorn, Bennington and Valley, Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista and Gretna, Plattsmouth and Louisville, Wahoo and Ashland, and Blair and Fort Calhoun.

Council Bluffs and the rest of Pottawattamie County are part of the same metro but follow Iowa's licensing system and Iowa Medicaid, so their buildings are outside our Nebraska-only directory; our Iowa-side guide explains the differences.
