How many assisted living facilities are licensed in the Omaha area?

The Nebraska DHHS roster of October 15, 2026 lists 79 licensed assisted-living facilities in Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, Saunders and Washington counties with 5,432 licensed beds, from 5 to 276 beds each (median 60).

What do the columns mean?

Every column comes straight from the DHHS roster: the license number, licensed beds, and the roster's service designations for Alzheimer's units, the memory care endorsement, Medicaid Aged and Disabled Waiver certification and complex nursing interventions.

36 of the 79 ALFs are waiver-certified, 34 hold the memory care endorsement and 14 are flagged for complex nursing interventions. Every ALF has its own page with its full roster record, nearby alternatives and questions to ask. Nebraska does not publish ALF inspection results in bulk, so ask each facility for its most recent DHHS survey, which residents have a right to see.

Why do all the licenses expire on the same date?

Because Nebraska's rule sets one expiration date for every assisted-living facility license, April 30 of each year, so every ALF on the current roster is licensed through April 30, 2027 unless DHHS acts sooner.
